Doing Things Differently: Microplastics are Micromonsters

Microplastics are Micromonsters

We are hyper-fans of the Natural Resources Defense Council, and this month we're sharing out about their important new campaign urging us all to make science-backed small changes to reduce microplastic exposure. Microplastics are an unavoidable reality of our current world, and the scary truth is we don't yet know the full health effects of microplastic exposure.

Ten Tips to Reduce Microplastic Exposure
1. Choose tap water, not bottled
2. Rethink plastic kitchenware (we've got ideas for you at the Turtle Stop!)
3. Rethink nonstick pans
4. DO NOT microwave plastic
5. Skip the plastic baby bottles
6. Watch out for hidden plastics in menstrual products
7. Choose natural fibers for your home and wardrobe
8. Bring your own nonplastic to-go cup
9. Avoid personal care products with intentionally added microplastics
10. Avoid plastic tea bags
